President Nana Akufo-Addo as part of plans to industrialize and transform the Ghanaian economy, promised that his government will establish a factory in each of the 216 districts across the country.
According to him, the establishment of these factories across the country, will help in the industrialization of Ghana’s economy and also create jobs for the teaming unemployed youth.
His promise was met with varied opinions as some doubted the feasibility of the policy. Plans towards the implementation have leaked with details outlining how the policy will be implemented.
Meanwhile, the chief of Sefwi Awiokrom Nana Ahwoi Payne I has allocated a 40 acres of land to help the Nana led administration to implement the policy within their locality.
In an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the traditional ruler said, they believe that Nana Addo will deliver on the policy hence, the reason for them to allocate the land to government at no cost.
When asked what kind of industry or factory they would want government to construct in the area, Nana Ahwoi said, ‘’we are predominantly cocoa farmers and so we will be grateful if government construct a factory that will add value to what we produce here. It could be a beverage processing factory or any cocoa related product he added.
